Shock Till You Drop - Zoe Bell is the Angel of Death

Comics mastermind and Eisner Award-winning writer Ed Brubaker (The Death of Captain America) and White Rock Lake Productions have teamed up to produce Angel of Death, a new live-action series for Crackle.com, Sony Pictures Entertainment's online video network, that will premiere in 2009.

Stuntwoman turned actress Zoë Bell has been cast as the lead character in the series, which depicts a remorseless assassin (Bell) in the employ of a ruthless crime family. After suffering a severe head wound, she becomes so haunted by her victims that she decides to kill the people who ordered the hits, one by one. Angel of Death will premiere in 2009 on http://www.crackle.com/angelofdeath Each 8 - 10 minute installment will be released over the course of 10 weeks.

Bell will make noise in 'Angel of Death'

Zoe Bell is getting a lot of exercise lately. The renowned stunt woman, who doubled for Lucy Lawless in Xena: Warrior Princess, kicked butt for Uma Thurman in the Kill Bill films and turned heads in Death Proof, next plays an assassin.

In Angel of Death, she plays Eve, whose life changes after she is injured. It premieres on Crackle.com in early 2009, with mini episodes released over 10 weeks, and later on DVD.

Angel was written by comic-book vet Ed Brubaker (Captain America) with Bell in mind. "Eve read (in the script) like a typical male action character," Bell says. Lawless also co-stars as her neighbor.

As for Angel, Bell promises that a fight in a bathroom "should be fairly vicious." Still, Bell says Angel offered a departure from her comfort zone. "Jumping off a building doesn't scare me. Crying in front of people does."

There has been several mention of Lucy appearing in a web series (posted the news yesterday) and in the back of my mind I had a vague memory of actually thinking Lucy mentioned this. She did. Lucy wrote about working on the pilot back in 2007 on her blog entry for 20 February 2007. It could or it could not be the one Lucy was talking about...

With Angel of Death, Zoe Bell is making her transition from stuntwoman to full-fledged badass female action star. “Eve is guiltless, heartless — emotionally sterile before she suffers the trauma that changes her,” Bell tells us. “She has to learn to co-exist with emotion” she adds, letting on that she has worked her character backstory well beyond what writer Ed Brubaker had written out.

Cam: So, speaking about the movie you just did with Zoë... What is it called?
Lucy: It's Called Angel of Death and I was asked to do it by Kerry Barden the casing director. I just heard it was Zoë [Bell] and said I do it I didn't even know what the role was.

Right now you're filming something called Angel of Death.

Right, I just finished shooting that, it's still in production. It's a movie for Sony Internet, a new full-length feature film for the internet. It stars me and Lucy Lawless and Zoe Bell [who was Lucy Lawless's stunt double on Xena] -- just by chance it drew together a bunch of us from Xena. I don't know how that happened, but it did. I only have a cameo, the director [Paul Etheredge] called me up to do a cameo, and it was a lot of fun.

Då vet vi vilken typ av roll Ted har samt att det är mer som en långfilm som dom sedan delar upp i X antal delar för att sedan släppas i sin helhet på DVD. (<--- nämns dock inte i denna intervju utan tidigare i denna tråd)

Promo via AUSXIP. Följ länken för att se. Tycker klippet var bra. Ser ut att bli riktigt, riktigt hårdkokt vilket känns helt rätt med tanke på vilka som ligger bakom hela projektet. Nu är det bara hoppas att man kan ta del av det hela via lämpligt ställe framöver.

Helt klart fortfarande intressant (gillar scenen i början med kniven). Hoppas men dessutom behåller 720p upplösningen. Med lite flyt borde man kunna dra ned avsnitten och konvertera dem till DVD/DivX och spara dem.

Med lite tur kan vi se serien via den officiella hemsidan trots att vi är utanför USA. Jag skulle inte sätta 500:- på det hela men jag hoppas på det bästa. Annars finns ju som tur är andra vägar att gå och skulle det gå helt åt pipsvängen får man väl köpa DVDn när den kommer ut.

Känns kul att ha fått se lite mer. En trevlig tidig julklapp.

Serien kommer visas varje vardag med start 2 mars 2009. Totalt 10 avsnitt på 8-10 minuter har producerats och de kommer släppas som ett avsnitt på DVD sedan. [Källa]

Båda funkar för mig - men det är i IE, jag hade problem med att få Crackle och funka i FF tidigare så jag ställde in IE-tab och alltid öppna den sidan i IE.

Man har verkligen lyckats med och få Lucy se risig ut.
